About Me:

I was born and raised in Peterborough / The Kawartha’s and love to spend time outdoors and on the water. I have been a certified personal trainer for the past 7 years and have experience working in a number of different gym facilities such as GoodLife Fitness and The YMCA of Central East Ontario. Within the past 2 years I have gained hands on experience in the clinical setting working along side registered physiotherapists and have found a new passion for working with, and training people with physical disabilities.

For my hobbies I am also a certified wakeboard instructor and a Learn to Compete Instructor through NCCP. I teach a learning facilitator course every year for Water Ski Wakeboard Ontario (WSWO) to promote on-water safety initiatives when coaching wakeboard athletes. As a wakeboard athlete myself, I compete at a National level but mainly now just for the fun of the sport.

If you have any questions about our facility feel free to come talk to me! I look forward to meeting you.

About Me:

I grew up in the Greater Toronto Area and did much traveling abroad and within Canada before settling in Peterborough in 2011.  Being an outdoorsy person, I love Peterborough & the Kawartha’s for the beautiful system of parks, hiking and biking trails, and waterways there are to explore.

I have always had a passion for fitness, health and wellness. I took my first ever Yoga class in 1999, and loved it. Ten years later I completed my first 200 hour Yoga Teacher training in Val Morin, Quebec, then in 2011 completed my 500 hour Advanced Teacher Training in India, and have been teaching and continuing my journey of learning ever since.

Working with people of varying ages and abilities, including some with injuries or health issues made me realize the need to be able to creatively adapt to the individual needs of each client. This further directed my interest towards the therapeutic application of movement and exercise, so I enrolled in the OTA & PTA Program at Fleming College, graduating in 2016.

Integrating my backgrounds of training and experience I aim to utilize the principles of safe and effective exercise, proper form and body mechanics, as well as incorporating breath and body awareness into every class or training session that I guide.

I believe that Yoga and fitness should be accessible to all, no matter what one’s age or ability, and I am proud to be a part of the team here at Active Living Fitness where our work is making that a reality.
